5 plants that will thrive indoors

Plant-03

2020 is here and one interior design trend that doesn't show any signs of slowing down is bringing the outdoors inside by incorporating lots of vibrant plants inside your home. Plants can bring fresh, vibrant energy into your home and add a welcome touch of green to your interior. Choosing the right plants for your home can be tricky as different plants have different requirements to flourish. Certain plants are unable to do well indoors, while others will thrive and therefore, to avoid the disappointment of having a dying plant, it is important to know which is which.

Here are five plants that will thrive in your home:

Delicious monster

With its lush, green, heart-shaped leaves and air purifying qualities, the Delicious Monster is a hugely popular indoor plant. This is because the Delicious Monster is easy to grow indoors. It requires bright, indirect sunlight and high humidity to thrive. These beautiful plants are climber plants and require a bit more space as they can, in the right conditions, grow fairly large – in some cases up to 3m tall.

Spider plant

The Spider Plant, or Chlorophytum Comosum, is an indigenous South Africa plant which has grown increasingly popular as an indoor plant. With its long, thin, distinctive green and white striped leaves, this plant makes a great addition to any room and its smaller size makes it the perfect feature to put on a cupboard shelf or display cabinet. The Snake Plant is fast growing and easy to maintain, requiring only a semi-shaded spot and a little bit of water in order to thrive.

Fiddle leaf fig

The Fiddle Leaf Fig gets its name from its beautiful, large, violin-shaped leaves. This slow-growing tree is able to grow tall and can be a standout décor feature in any room. It is an excellent option for an indoor plant as it is robust and is able to thrive in most bright locations. The Fiddle Leaf Fig should be kept moist but be sure not to over-water, especially in winter.

Heartleaf Philodendron

The Heartleaf Philodendron is a top choice for indoor plant lovers thanks to its eagerness to climb, with its stems able to, in the right circumstances, reach over 1m in length. This plant is easy to care for as it is tolerant of most conditions and requires moderate to bright light in order to thrive. You can train your heart-leaf philodendron to climb using poles and floral tape or, alternatively, you can hang this plant, or place it on a bookshelf or cupboard shelf and allow the stems to trail down towards the floor.

Parlor palm

The Parlor Palm is an excellent way to bring a snippet of the outdoors into your home, with its cheerful bright green foliage. The Parlor Palm is well-known for its air-purifying abilities, making it a welcome addition to any room. This plant thrives in low light, so make sure to keep it out of direct sunlight.

With so many easy to care for, vibrant plants to choose from; there's no reason not to bring a little taste of the outdoors inside and add some much-needed green into your home's interior.
