Create your own DIY jewellery display

Whether you keep your jewellery in a jewellery box or just lying around, it's often hard to find that one particular ring or remember where you put your silver earrings. When it comes to storing your jewellery and keeping your pieces organised, having a jewellery display unit can make a huge difference in how easily you find your favourite pieces - after all, if you can't see it, you're probably not going to wear it.

Rather than going to the shops and buying an expensive jewellery display unit, why not opt to build your own jewellery storage and display unit.

Try making this picture frame jewellery display, it is not only easy to make but also looks great in your bedroom or inside your cupboard.

What you will need:

● An old wooden picture frame, at least A4 in size, preferably bigger

● Staple gun

● Chicken wire- cut 5cm wider and longer than the size of your frame

● Paint

● Little screw-in hooks/nails

How to do it:

  1. You can start your DIY project by painting the picture frame with whichever colour you have chosen for your jewellery display unit.
  2. Once the paint has dried you will need to attach your sheet of chicken wire to the back of the photo frame using your staple gun. Make sure it is secured properly as you don't want it to come loose and for your jewellery to fall on the floor and potentially get lost.
  3. The next step is to create additional hanging space by screwing small hooks or nails along the sides of the wooden frame, where you will be able to hang necklaces, bracelets and rings.

Once you've finished making your jewellery storage display, it is time to decide where to hang it. An excellent place to hang your jewellery display frame is on the inside of your cupboard door or, if you have a walk-in closet, on a wall within the closet. This will enable you to keep your jewellery and clothes in your cupboard so that they are both easily accessible when you are putting an outfit together.

It is so easy to create your own beautiful jewellery display that there really is no reason to go to the shops and buy an expensive display unit.
